The purpose of the KSCHFC is to encourage the art and sport of historical fencing. We want to develop physical prowess with historically accurate swords, as well as improve the powers of reasoning, decision making, and self-discipline. We’re approaching this as a martial art and a liberal art. Members learn the history and cultural significance of swordsmanship as they learn to use a sword. We’ll also seek to raise public awareness of historical fencing through exhibitions, seminars, lectures, and similar programs.
